Muir Woods & Sausalito With Alcatraz Tour

Tour Notes The solitude and freedom of Muir Woods, which houses one of the world's oldest and tallest groves of Redwood trees, comes together with an exciting tour of country's most infamous prison, Alcatraz Island.

Your day starts with a scenic drive over the Golden Gate Bridge, where we'll stop in order to take advantage of gorgeous, picturesque views of the city of San Francisco as well as the San Francisco Bay. Be sure to bring your camera!

Next, we'll head through the coastal mountains to the Bay Area's most popular national monument, Muir Woods. Muir Woods is a 550-acre National Monument, which features an extensive grove of Coastal Redwoods, some of the oldest and tallest trees in the world. Here, you can spend approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes on your own exploring this beautiful area (entry fee included).

Then, we'll head to the unique and quaint Mediterranean-like town of Sausalito. Here, you'll have time to grab a bite to eat, shop at some of the town's many boutiques, check out the art galleries and admire the fabulous mansions around the area (approximately 45-60 minutes).

Keep your cameras ready because next we're off to Alcatraz Island (ferry ride and admission included). Alcatraz was once home to some of this country's most notorious criminals, including Al Capone and Machine Gun Kelly. Take the audio walking tour of this famous Island Prison (included), and tour through the many cellblocks. You'll even learn about the famous Escape From Alcatraz.
